The 19th China Southern Power Grid International Technology Forum was held today (13 October) in Guangzhou. At the forum, more than 100 experts in energy and power discussed the advancement of carbon neutral power and energy systems driven by digitalisation and green development, and shared their insights on the latest policies, theories, and technological innovations in the field. Yonghua Song, rector of the University of Macau (UM), attended the forum and delivered a keynote speech. He discussed the latest policy strategies adopted by the UK, EU, and other international communities in areas such as climate change, carbon policy mechanism, zero-carbon energy system transformation, digitalisation of energy system, as well as the relevant progress in technological innovation. He also highlighted UM’s efforts in carbon-neutral technological innovation and introduced the research projects conducted by the State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City, the Zhuhai UM Science & Technology Research Institute, and the China Southern Power Grid – University of Macau Joint Laboratory of Smart Power and Energy for Carbon Neutrality.
