The Academic Committee of the State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City (IOTSC), University of Macau (UM), today (9 November) held its third meeting, which involved both in-person and virtual elements. During the meeting, experts and scholars exchanged ideas on the development of the laboratory and the creation of a smart city cluster in the Greater Bay Area. IOTSC professor Zhou Wanhuan reported the current progress of the laboratory’s projects and its research achievements in the past year. According to Prof Zhou, the laboratory has successfully achieved its goals set for each stage and has passed the assessment. Members of the committee recognised the laboratory’s achievements in basic research, talent development, technology transfer, international cooperation, and academic exchange. They also reached a consensus that the laboratory should continue to address the major needs of the country, make full use of the advantages of the university and the strengths of Macao, produce high-quality research results, and enhance its international influence.
