UM, SPIC collaborate to promote technology transfer in smart energy
The University of Macau (UM) and State Power Investment Corporation Limited (SPIC) recently signed a strategic collaboration framework agreement. The agreement aims to promote technological innovation and the commercialisation of research results at the university, enhance SPIC’s capacity for independent innovation and core competitiveness, and promote the joint development of both parties.

Macao’s first autonomous bus launched at UM
The University of Macau (UM) held a launch ceremony for Macao’s first Autonomous Driving Bus Testing Platform today (23 October), marking that the first autonomous bus has become operational in Macao. The autonomous bus will run on the UM campus on a trial basis. During this period, data will be collected for analysis in preparation for future testing on public roads in Macao.
UM SKL-IOTSC achieves breakthroughs in autonomous driving research
The University of Macau (UM) has achieved two major breakthroughs in autonomous driving research. A study at the university has provided new insights on autonomous driving under bad weather and complex road conditions while another study has developed new learning models that will be specifically applied to autonomous driving in Macao.

UM scholar’s study on online matching published by top journal of ACM
In a study on online matching, a scholar at the University of Macau (UM) has discovered a new model that can be widely used in today’s society, such as in the DiDi carpooling service, or landlord and tenant matching. The study is the only breakthrough in arbitrary online matching problems in the past 30 years.
A UM SKL-IoTSC paper on data mining accepted by top international conference ACM SIGKDD
A latest paper by a research team at the State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City, University of Macau (UM), titled ‘Preserving Dynamic Attention for Long-Term Spatial-Temporal Prediction’, has been accepted by ACM SIGKDD 2020, a top conference in the field. This year, a total of 1,279 papers were submitted to the Research Track of KDD, of which 216 were accepted (16.8%).
