The University of Macau (UM) and BoardWare Information System Limited (BoardWare) signed a strategic collaboration framework agreement today (3 February) in the university’s State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City (SKL-IOTSC).

A team from the University of Macau (UM) State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City (SKL-IOTSC) today (28 January) won a second prize and the only Best Innovation Award at a contest of AI application in power dispatching in China, it was the only university team to win awards at this competition.

The University of Macau (UM) held a launch ceremony for Macao’s first Autonomous Driving Bus Testing Platform today (23 October), marking that the first autonomous bus has become operational in Macao. The autonomous bus will run on the UM campus on a trial basis. During this period, data will be collected for analysis in preparation for future testing on public roads in Macao.

The University of Macau (UM) has achieved two major breakthroughs in autonomous driving research. A study at the university has provided new insights on autonomous driving under bad weather and complex road conditions while another study has developed new learning models that will be specifically applied to autonomous driving in Macao.
