A delegation led by Song Jun, secretary of the China Association for Science and Technology, recently visited the University of Macau (UM) and was warmly received by UM Rector Yonghua Song. During the meeting, Prof Song told the guests about UM’s responsibility of nurturing outstanding professionals for the Macao SAR, as well as the university’s ‘3+3+3’ research blueprint and the Macao Base for Primary & Secondary STEM Education. Song Jun praised UM for its rapid development, unique education model, research achievements, excellent environment that is conducive to innovation, and achievements in science popularisation. He also expressed hope that both parties would increase collaborations in order to make a greater contribution to Macao and China. The delegation visited the University Gallery, Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City. The guests also experienced the autonomous bus developed by UM, which is the first of its kind in Macao.
