The State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City (SKL-IOTSC) successfully held its Open Day event on January 11 (Sunday). The laboratory designed eight interactive experience projects, attracting enthusiastic participation from a wide range of technology enthusiasts, academic peers, and members of the public. We sincerely thank every guest who attended for joining us in witnessing the innovative achievements of IoT technology. Now, let’s look back at the highlights of the event together.

CrowdTelescope Demo Display：Through real-time data and dynamic visualization technology, the distribution and movement trends of urban crowds were displayed in an intuitive manner. Guests experienced firsthand how intelligent management enhances public safety and spatial efficiency, eliciting continuous exclamations of amazement on-site.

UrbanXplain: AI Urban Planning Design：Combining 3D modeling and virtual reality, a design blueprint for the future city was presented. Guests explored livable and efficient urban spaces through interactive experiences, sparking boundless imagination for the development of smart cities.

Metaverse Autonomous Driving Challenge：On the virtual racetrack, guests transformed into racing drivers, experiencing the thrill of sprinting, drifting, and overtaking. The immersive speed competitions in the metaverse seamlessly blended technology with entertainment, filling the venue with laughter and excitement.

Robotic Dog Demo：With agile postures and precise movements, the robotic dog showcased its abilities in walking, running, and interacting. Its nimble performance, akin to a glimpse of future technology, left the audience in awe.

Realtime Digital-Analog Hybrid Simulation Platform for Smart Energy Workshop：Through detailed explanations and real-time simulation operations, guests gained an in-depth understanding of the operational principles of smart energy systems. They experienced firsthand the efficiency and convenience brought by technology in energy management.

Macao-Qinshan Geological and Geographic Information System：A geological and geographic information platform showcasing the integration of Hengqin and Macau was presented, highlighting the critical application of technology in regional collaborative development, environmental assessment, and planning. This attracted many guests to stop and engage in in-depth discussions.

UAV for Geological Disaster Survey：The efficient application of drones in geological hazard investigations was demonstrated, showcasing their precise data collection and monitoring capabilities. This allowed guests to gain an intuitive understanding of how technology aids in disaster prevention and mitigation efforts.

Urban Disaster-Prevention and Risk-Reduction Knowledge Exhibition & Fun Quiz Challenge：Through research display panels and interactive Q&A sessions, guests acquired practical knowledge on disaster prevention and mitigation. Engaging in fun challenges further enhanced their awareness of disaster response, creating an atmosphere that was both educational and lively at the event.
