The University of Macau (UM) today (17 June) held a lecture on smart cities, as part of the University Lecture Series. Six prominent experts in the field discussed the different aspects of smart city development, including big data, urban security, the Internet of Things, future transport, smart structure, and cloud computing. The event attracted many UM faculty members and students, high school teachers and students, industry practitioners, as well as members of the general public. The lecture was initiated by UM’s State Key Laboratory of the Internet of Things for Smart City and chaired by Jia Weijia, deputy director of the lab.
